Water Method meditation practices have been passed down by Taoists for 4,000 years. Paul Cavel has studied under his primary teacher, Taoist Lineage Holder Bruce Frantzis, since 1992 and taught the Water Method for 30 years.

WHY MEDITATE?

Water Method meditation techniques are deeply profound and can become incredibly refined, having the ability to take a person into the core of their being, to help you realise who you truly are.

But the depth, breadth and indeed complexity of Taoist Meditation is so vast that it can present a barrier to people getting started, especially for those who are compromised in some way from stress, tension, and physical, emotional and/or mental trauma.

From a Taoist perspective, everything that happens to you in this life is stored in your physical body. For this reason and in order to maintain good health, heal and become a stronger, more resilient human being, you must actively release the energies that have become bound and stuck within you.

First you must become aware of what is inside you, so you can release all that is false, untrue, not really you, and become the free and awake human being you are meant to be.

TAOIST MEDITATION

BEGINNERS TO MEDITATION

Paul designed this course to help beginners to meditation step into a genuine, non-religious, tried-and-true method for going inside, finding out what is stuck and bound, and starting the healing process.

EXPERIENCED MEDITATORS

Experienced meditators will refine and add depth to the techniques they already know, open up new areas of awareness and solidify their foundation in the essential skills of meditation. This is the method used by Taoists for millennia to root out personal weaknesses, fill in gaps of understanding and move into more profound Dissolving practices.

WALKING MEDITATION

Walking in a circle naturally creates a vortex of energy that will help you contact, feel, and progressively release bound and stuck energy.

You will need 10 feet/3 metres+ of space to practise the five Circle Walking meditations. Training outdoors is ideal, weather permitting.

In this programme, regular, heel-toe stepping is used, so you do not need to have a background or interest in bagua, or its central technique, Mud Stepping. That said, bagua practitioners will find this introduction to walking meditation an effective way to warm up for bagua practice, or to gently release what has been brought up from more intense bagua training.

WATER METHOD TEACHERS

This course will teach you basic meditation techniques that, once embodied, can be woven into your courses to introduce your students to Taoist Meditation, to help them ground, and systematically release stress and tension as a complement to neigong practice (including qigong, tai chi and bagua).

It will also help you solidify your foundation, so you can apply Outer Dissolving and other more advanced meditation methods to your teaching for the benefit of your students.
